Grading

Just like a classroom, we will be giving out grades as well.  Grades will be given at the end of each PE class. Students will have a chance to give input on which grade they think they earned for that day based on class participation, behavior, and PE expectations. The grading system is as follows:

  • E = Exceeds expectations; hits all of the standards we have set out for them AND helps with other student(s) in class
  • M = Meets expectations; hits all of the standards we have set out
  • WT = Working Towards expectations; Needs a little more practice to achieve the standard, has to take a break inside of our space for behavior reasons but is able to pull it back together and work again
  • NI = Needs improvement; Does not achieve any or only one of the standards we have set. Has to take a break outside of our space (office) for behavior reasons.
Standards

Standard 1:  The physically literate individual demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns. (Daily Grade)

Standard 2:  The physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance. (Concept Grade)

Standard 4:  The physically literate individual exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others. (Behavior Grade)
